Apprencticeship Process

The exclusive S.T.E.P model implementation aids in delivering Apprenticeship-based training programs that are accurate, efficient, transparent, and time-saving.

The S.T.E.P Model Applied to Apprenticeship

Apprenticeship is a training model that combines on-the-job learning, foundational knowledge, and competency assessment.

The Apprenticeship program at the London Academy of Sciences adopts the exclusive S.T.E.P model to facilitate effective and precise implementation:

  • Self study – Independent learning with materials on the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Training Competency – Learning from hands-on experts.
  • Evidences – Providing documentation as proof of achieved competencies.
  • Projects – Completing a graduation thesis to apply the acquired knowledge.

Learning and immediate workplace application, combined with competency recognition and certification, constitute a modern and efficient training model. Undoubtedly, this model will serve as the foundation for many other effective training models (UNESCO Chair, 2022).

As a family owned and operated company we are hands on business owners and intimately involved in daily operations. Time on the shop floor interacting with employees is routine, promoting their development and be proud of their work.

The benefits of Apprenticeship

    1. Development of Practical Skills: The Apprenticeship program allows individuals to develop practical skills and competencies related to their chosen profession. This hands-on experience is highly valued by employers and helps apprentices prepare well for job requirements.
    2. Workplace Readiness: Apprentices learn and work in a real-world environment, becoming familiar with the processes, expectations, and responsibilities of the job. This prepares apprentices for the workforce, facilitating a smooth transition to higher-level positions upon program completion.
    3. No Work-Study Conflict: Apprentices can maintain their current jobs because learning and working are closely integrated. The balance between learning and working in the Apprenticeship model minimizes work-study conflicts.
    4. Industry-Aligned Training: The Apprenticeship program is designed in collaboration with industry experts and government regulations. Consequently, the training is closely aligned with desired outcomes, meeting the current needs and realities of the industry. This helps Apprenticeship shape a highly skilled and industry-ready workforce.
    5. Guidance and Support: Apprentices are accompanied by mentors or experienced professionals. This guidance helps impart knowledge and encourages the development of work ethics and professional behavior.
    6. Enhanced Job Opportunities: Completing the Apprenticeship program improves an individual’s employability. Graduates of Apprenticeship programs also receive formal credentials from partner universities. The combination of work experience and formal qualifications makes the Apprenticeship model more attractive to employers in the industry.
    7. Higher Income Potential: Apprenticeship is closely linked to workforce competence within a business and often leads to higher income potential in one’s career. Candidates can demonstrate their abilities to management, contributing to their career advancement.
